The deal, for a 4G LTE data plan, applies to cars sold in the US from 3 March and will cost $20 a month. Onstar, US carrier provides the assistance to make it work.
This will see vehicles fitted with a wi-fi in hotspot that connects to the web via LTE.
According to Chevrolet, this deal is being offered because in-car data use had grown very fast that data used via wi-fi in its cars grew by about 200% in 2016. In 2016 alone, Chevrolet claimed that its in-car hotspots handled about four million gigabytes of data.
The system allows owners to connect up to seven devices at a time. Chevrolet claimed that this facility is available in all its range of vehicles.
