Here is a cheering news for artistes and musicians-alike who will want to take their career paths a notch higher academically.

The good news is that the University of Calabar now has a department of music. The Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Zana Akpagu made this disclosure while giving his opening remark at the 30th convocation ceremony of the institution recently.

According to the Prof. Zana, new other departments in the institution include but not limited to Fine and Applied Arts, Mass Communication, Tourism and Hospitality Management, and Food Science and Technology.
