An official of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) was allegedly stabbed today by an officer of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) at the Murtala Muhammed Airport Ikeja, Lagos.
According to reports, the NDLEA official fell out with the Air Force man when the latter attempted to force the former to close before the 7pm deadline agreed by stakeholders at the Hajj and Cargo Terminal international wing of the Murtala Muhammed Airport (MMA), Lagos.
Sources at the scene reported that the NAF officer lost his calm when the NDLEA official refused to leave the airport premises on the grounds that it was not yet the official closing time, 7pm. The NAF officer allegedly slapped the NDLEA official and this led to physical fight between the two. Things however heated up when another NAF officer joined the fight and stabbed the NDLEA official. He was eventually taken to the hospital after bystanders began to raise alarm that he might die if not duly treated.
The spokesman for NDLEA, Mr Mitchell Ofoyeju confirmed the incident, saying that it was a minor disagreement.
He also added that the issue has been resolved.
