older brother to actor Eddie Murphy has been pronounced dead
African- American comedian and older brother to actor Eddie Murphy has been pronounced dead. The 57 year-old father of three, Charlie Murphy died of leukemia in a New York hospital after battling the illness for some time.
In a statement released by the family of the deceased,they expressed their grief thus :“Our hearts are heavy with the loss today of our son, brother, father, uncle and friend Charlie".
"Charlie filled our family with love and laughter and there won’t be a day that goes by that his presence will not be missed".
"Thank you for the outpouring of condolences and prayers. We respectfully ask for privacy during this time of great loss for all of us.”

The deceased was best known for his appearances on Dave Chappelle's show on Comedy central alongside Dave Chappelle and Neal Brennan. Charlie also starred in Are We There Yet, The Boondocks, Black Jesus, CB4 among others.
This sad event occurs 8 years after Charlie lost his wife Trish to cervical cancer in 2009.
