Kebbi state government has expressed its intention to declare a state of emergency in the state's education sector.
The state governor, Atiku Bagudu made this known yesterday while addressing members of Kebbi Development Forum (KDF), an NGO in Birnin-Kebbi.
According to him, the policy will go a long way in improving teaching and learning in the state, adding that his administration would work with stakeholders to transform the state's education sector.
It is worthy of note that out of the 78,378 pupils that participated in the recent 2017 National Common Entrance Examination to gain entrance into federal colleges, Kebbi state had the least number of candidates, numbering only 63 as opposed to states like Lagos which had 24,816 candidates.
