Rotract Club Awards Scholarships To 18 Undergraduates
18 indigent Nigerian undergraduates have benefited from the Rotract Club of Nigeria's scholarship scheme.
The students were presented with cheques worth N100,00 last week at the Rotary House, GRA Ikeja, by the District 9110 Educational &Welfare Endowment Fund (DEWEF), which cuts across Lagos and Ogun states.
According to the DEWEF chairman, Adeniji Raji, the award scheme which kicked off in 2009-2010 with only three awardees has grown over the years with the number of awardees increasing with each edition.
Mr. Adeniji further thanked one of the club leaders, Adekunle Kukoyi, who initiated the fund in 1992 to encourage indigent, but intelligent undergraduates whose cumulative grade points are between 3.6 and 4.2.
The scholarship beneficiaries expressed their profound gratitude to DEWEF as they beamed with smiles in acceptance of the cheques.
