A driver with the Uber cab service, Mr. Mobosi Ikechukwu has been arraigned for allegedly stealing his passenger's phone worth N235,000.
A driver with the Uber cab service, Mr. Mobosi Ikechukwu has been arraigned before a Magistrate court in Igbosere, Lagos State for allegedly stealing his passenger's phone worth N235,000.
According to the prosecuting corporal, Friday Mameh, Mr. Ikechukwu, 32, had been asked by his company to pick up one Mrs Fatima Eshotune on February 28. Ikechukwu then allegedly picked her up in his Toyota Corolla saloon car, and along the way, she requested to charge her phone on a device in the car.
According to police report, Mrs. Fatima allegedly forgot the phone in the car when she alighted at about 8:10pm, at 16, Agodogba Street, Parkview Estate, Ikoyi.
Although Mr. Ikechukwu denied seeing the phone, he was offered bail of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum by Magistrate Sonuga.
The case has been adjourned till May 15.
