When you think of fine wine, true accomplishment and pure artistry, Taiwo Ajai Lycett comes to mind.
Actress, Taiwo Ajai Lycett was born in Lagos , Nigeria in 1941. After struggling with being a teenage mother and eventually a teenage widow, Taiwo decided to travel to London to further her education,where she attended Hendon College of Technology and obtained a Higher National Diploma in Business Studies in 1969. She also took courses at the Christine Shaw School of Beauty Science in London, where she received a certificate in cosmetology.
Taiwo started acting in 1966 , when she featured in Wole Soyinka's The lion and the jewel after she was asked to feature in the play by the director,William Gaskill. Her performance marked her break into the acting scene. She went further to perform in other thaetre plays, notable among them being the 1973 sitcom, Some mothers do have them.
Today, Taiwo Ajai Lycett has featured in numerous stage and TV plays, including Africa's award winning TV series, Tinsel.
