6 Lagos Teens Dragged To Court



Police in the Idioro, Mushin area of Lagos State, Nigeria have dragged six teenagers to the Ikeja Magistrate Court for allegedly disturbing the peace.

The accused, who are also residents of the same area, are facing charges of conspiracy, rioting and unlawful assembly.

 The Police Prosecutor, Sgt. Emmanuel Ajayi, said that the accused who allegedly committed the crime on April 29th unlawfully assembled at 2. 00 a.m. and acted in a disorderly manner by disturbing the peace of the area to the extent of causing panic to the residents.

According to Mr. Ajayi, the offences contravened Sections 44, 45, and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011. However, all six of the accused pleaded innocent to the charges levelled against them and the court granted them bail in the sum of N20,000 with one surety each in like sum. The sureties, according to Magistrate, Mrs F. A. Azeez, must be a blood relative of the accused.

The case was adjourned till June 7.
