Education Minister Suspends FUTA VC, Registrar
The Vice Chancellor of the Federal University Of Technology, Akure (FUTA) , Prof. Adebiyi Daramola, as well as the Registrar, Mrs Modupe Ajayi. have been suspended by the Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu.
The said suspension aroused a lot of celebration as the campus was reportedly thrown into ecstasy with workers exchanging pleasantries on the development.
Although reports have it that the VC and the varsity's bursar, Emmanuel Oresegun have been dragged to court by the EFCC over alleged mismanagement of the institution funds, no one seems to know why the Registrar was suspended with the VC and not the bursar.
The chairman of the Joint Action Committee JAC of the University and Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities SSANU Dele Durojaiye confirmed the suspension, stating however that details of their suspension had not yet been communicated to them.
