Ondo Urged To Employ New Teachers

The Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) has urged the Ondo State government  to recruit new teachers.



NUT State Acting Secretary, Solomon Igbelowowa said this today in Akure, the state capital. He added that there was shortage of teachers in all the 18 local government areas of the state.


According to Mr. Solomon, not less than 500 teachers retire from the state teaching service every year, leaving many classrooms virtually empty.

He therefore called on the state government to look into the situation and recruit new teachers into the educational system.
