No fewer than 72 graduating Radiographer were inducted by the Radiographer Registration Board Nigeria (RRBN) as the University of Calabar holds her 11th International Induction and Oath taking ceremony recently.
The event which saw 72 graduates drawn from various Universities including University of Calabar, Nsukka and Ghana inducted was held at University of Calabar International Conference Centre.
Speaking at the event, the Acting Registrar and Chief Executive of the Radiographers Registration Board of Nigeria, (RRBN) Chidiebere T. Chidiebere advised the graduands to imbibe the basic tenets and ethics of the profession by being punctual and regular in attendance to duties and mutual respect for senior colleagues.
On his part, the Provost, College of Medical Sciences, University of Calabar, Prof. Maurice Asuquo proposed a Faculty of Radiography for the University of Calabar, even as he advised graduands not to focus on today’s achievement as the best but to seek to reach the peak of their noble profession by not losing grip of the vital lessons gathered from their lectures.
In his valedictory speech, the overall best graduating Radiography student, Mr. Esop Esop Jacob expressed profound gratitude to their parents for the tremendous sacrifices made while, further thanking the Lecturers and the University Management for grooming them to be better and stronger.
Highpoints of the ceremony was the presentation of the 11th Radiographer induction and Oath taking Lecture by Dr. Nneoyi Onen Egbe, on the topic “Breaking the Frontiers of 21st Century Radiography Practice” .
