The bandana trend is one that is always going to be in style. Although artistes like the late rap legend Tupac Shakur helped make it a thing, this video by Alice Thorpe goes to prove that you don't have to be a rapper to rock the bandana like a lyrical god (no pun intended)! lol

No girl wants to be caught with ratchet nails, ever. But having pretty nails alone doesn't cut it. It is equally important to make sure your nails are as healthy as possible. These nail care tips by youqueen  promises to take us a step closer to those perfect nails we always wish for.

 1. Rubber Gloves Are Your Friends

Do not EVER do the dishes or clean your home without wearing rubber gloves. The chemicals you use for cleaning are very strong and can really damage your hands and your nails. Not only that they will make your nails weaker, they could also give you nasty burns. Always wear rubber gloves when cleaning.

2. Calcium Gels and Nail Hardeners

Calcium gels and nail hardeners can really make your nails stronger. However, you can’t expect results right away, you need to give it some time and use the product regularly. I used to have a very good nail hardener which I can’t find on the market anymore, so if you could recommend me the one you’re using, I’d be very grateful.

3. Nail Creams

Your regular hand cream is sometimes not enough. In order to take good care of your nails, you need to get special nail creams. They are usually not expensive, and there’s a bunch of them on the market. Try a couple until you find the one that suits you best.

4. Cuticle Removing

One of the biggest mistakes many girls do when it comes to their nails is cutting the cuticles. This should never be done. Instead, apply cuticle remover gel or cream and gently push your cuticles with a cuticle stick.

5. Regular Clipping

You really have no reason to have super long nails. Not only that it’s unpractical, but it makes you look a bit slutty. Keep your nails at length that doesn’t come in a way of your every day chores and clip them regularly. Nails that are too long are also much more prone to breaking.

6. Filing and Polishing

First and foremost, invest in a good nail file. Every time you clip your nails, file them. Do this by moving the file in one direction only. When you move it left and right you’re actually creating tiny cracks that weaken your nails. Polish your nails not more often than once a month. If you do it too often, you can make your nails thinner and weaker.

7. Easy on Nail Polish
Although colorful nails are quite cool, nail polish actually does a lot of damage to your nails. The reason is that nail polishes contain acetone, which makes your nails soft. Don’t manicure your nails more often than once a week and buy only high quality nail polishes. If your nail polish has passed its expiration date, throw it right away.

8. Oil Based Nail Polish Removals
Even though I don’t know anyone who still uses acetone based nail polish removals, I feel that it’s still a good idea to mention it. The bad effect on acetone on your nails has been previously explained, so opt for oil based nail polish removals. They are much less harmful to your nails.

9. Acrylic or Gel Nails

Even though I personally don’t like any kind of artificial nails, a lot of my friends who have really weak nails swear that acrylic and gel nails keep them from breaking their natural nails. So, if your nails are weak too, maybe you can opt for one of these solutions. Be careful though, I’ve heard some girls had quite bad reactions to gel and acrylic. Also if you somehow pull an acrylic nail you risk pulling your natural nail together with it. And that hurts a lot.

If you follow these tips, trust me your nails will love you for it.

We all know how unflattering bad acne and blackheads can be. I mean, imagine getting ready for that high society event and on the morning of the event, you discover a pimple or blackhead smiling on your face! How horrifying!

We've all had our bad acne/ blackhead stories, but today, naturalremedyideas gives us some natural ways of fighting blackheads.

1.Egg White Mask

This is an easy mask that can be prepared at your home quickly. Egg White can tighten the pores of your face temporarily, which will not only remove your current blackheads, but also reduce the chances of future blackheads. It is less drying and rich with many necessary nutrition.

In order to use this mask, you just need an egg, some pieces of facial tissue (or toilet papers), a clean towel, and a small bowl.

After gathering these, you have to break the egg and separate the white from the yolk. At first, Wash and pat dry your face. Then, apply the thin egg’s white layer over your skin. In order to apply the layer, you can place a strip of tissue over the thin layer, then press it onto your face very gently.

When the first layer will dry, carefully apply this method again for the second and third time. Let the mask dry properly. It will make you feel tighten in the skin. Now, peel the tissue layers, and gently wash your face to make sure that all residues are cleaned properly. Finally, pat dry your face.

Note: If you want, you can apply layers 3 to 5 times. But, you have to make sure that each of the layers is enough dry to place the next layer. If the layers are not enough dry, this method will not work properly.

2.Get Rid of Blackheads with Honey and Milk Pore Strips

We know that honey and milk have some beneficial properties for skin. Milk has lactic acid that can keep your skin soft, and honey has useful antibacterial ingredients. Both of them are good to remedy blackheads fast.

Direction:

In order to apply this method, you have to collect 1 teaspoon of milk, 1 tablespoon of raw honey (organic honey is must), and clean strip of cotton.
Take the milk and honey and mix together. Heat the mix for 5-10 seconds in a microwave until they form as a paste. When the temperature becomes comfortable to use, apply the paste over your skin. Now, put a strip of clean and dry cotton onto it. Let the paste dry. Then, peel the strip and rinse your face with cold water.

Note: It is good to wait at least for 20 minutes after applying the paste over your skin to let it dry properly.

3. Try Honey and Cinnamon Strips
The combination of cinnamon and honey is a wonderful property to get rid of blackheads. Honey has antibacterial properties, while the cinnamon is good to improve your skin’s blood circulation. A mix of the both properties not only will remove blackheads, but also take away acne and make your skin smooth and healthy.

Direction:

This method requires 1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder, 1 teaspoon of organic honey, and clean strips of cotton.

At first mix the cinnamon powder and the honey together until the both properties turns into paste. When the paste is prepared, apply a thin layer over your affected area. Now, press a clean strip of cotton over it. Sit down for 3 to 5 minutes, then remove the paste and clean your face gently but properly.

Note: After cleaning your face, you should use a moisturizer for better result.

4.Use Lemon to Get Rid of Blackheads Overnight From Nose and Face

Blackheads are caused by clogged, open and pores that react to oxygen. So, the best method to get rid of blackheads fast is shrinking your skin’s pores. Lemon juice is an essential astringent that will do this job properly.

Direction:

In this method, you just need 1 lemon, a small bottle and cotton balls.

Clean your face, then pat dry. Now take the lemon, squeeze it and keep the juice into a small bottle. Take a small cotton ball, then dampen the cotton ball using the juice. Apply it to your affected areas at bedtime. After getting up from bed, rinse your face with water, and apply moisturizer. You can store the rest of the juice in a refrigerator up to a week.

Note: Lemon juice may make your skin sensitive to the sun. If you are planning to apply this method in the summer season, you should load up on sunscreen. If your skin is sensitive, you should dilute lemon juice with water.

5.Baking Soda and Water

is a good ingredient to remove blackheads. Its small granules work naturally to remove anything clogging your skin pores.

Direction:

In order to apply this method, you need some baking soda, and fresh water.

Mix Water with baking soda to form a paste that is thick, but spreadable. Message the paste using a circular motion into your skin. Now rinse thoroughly with fresh and a little cold water. Finally, pat dry your face and use a moisturizer.

Note: You cannot overdo it, since baking soda is high in pH that can seriously dry your skin.

Yes! we all know that styling natural hair can be fun, but did you know that there are some hairstyles that may be doing more harm than good to your natural hair?? Now a lot of natural hair bloggers focus on differnt hairstyles but not all of them actually tell you which style is bad for your hair. Well, i got you covered!

Note; I am not saying you shouldn't make these hairstyles but just don't make them too often.

Now that being said, get your learning chairs ladies because natural hair lesson 101 is now in session!

1. The first culprit is hairstyles that put a strain on your edges. ladies if you want a healthy, 'edge-ful' natural hair, then you should stay away from hairstyles like puffs, ponytails or updos. This is because they tend to drag your hair upwards thereby causing a strain on your hair and making it to thin out, which causes loss of edges. As cute as these hairstyles may look, they would eventually destroy your hair in the long run.

2. Styles that are too tight and pulling your hair are a no-no and trust me girrrl i'm talking from experience. I remember one time i had bantu knots on and i literally couldn't sleep with my hair down for days. It was so painful and was pulling my hair! These tight hairstyles can cause hair breakage. Therefore, avoid hairstyles that are too tight. they do more harm than good to your hair.

3.Unless its a special occasion, do not, i repeat do not use heat on your natural hair!
Styles that involve heat such as blowouts or hair straightening would eventually lead to heat damage. so, KEEP OFF!
