KATSINA VARSITY OUTLAWS CHRISTIAN RELIGION

The Management of the Umar Musa Yar’Adua University, Katsina, Katsina State, have outlawed any other religious or tribal association on campus besides the Muslim Students Society of Nigeria.

This was made known by the University’s acting Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Sulaiman Kankara through an internal memorandum dated January 17, 2017.
According to the memo, the directive was part of the resolutions of the university’s management at its 59th meeting, which was held on January 10, 2017. According to the memo all tribal and local government associations are prohibited by the university.

The memo clearly stated that only Muslim Students Society of Nigeria is the only religious association allowed to operate in the university, any other religious gathering is henceforth banned.
Campusdelight however learnt that, students will likely not react to the directive as it has been known for a long time that the University disposition has been towards this direction for a long time.
