A 9-member commitee has been set up at the Federal Polytechnic, Auchi, Edo State to address the issues arising between the management and staff.
Staff members of the said school had on February 6th embarked on an indefinite strike, demanding the payment of their unremitted deduction amounting to 1.8 Billion Naira. Consequently, the management appointed a 9-person mediation committee to look into the matter which has allegedly been causing friction between the management and staff.
While speaking to the press on Tuesday, the Rector of the institution, Engr. Jafaru Buraimah said that the committee is expected to present a report to the management on Friday, adding that if the report is positive, the school will be reopened for commencement of academic activities. He equally stated that the management is keeping in touch with the President of the Student Union Government (SUG) Samson okoduga.
The committee members include:
