As part of its mission under the UK Presidency, the United Nations Security Council has paid a visit to the areas in the Lake Chad Basin devastated by Boko Haram terrorists – Nigeria, Cameroon, Chad and Niger. The visit aims at enabling the UN missions get information on issues affecting the country.
The delegation which arrived in Maiduguri, Borno state is expected to have a meeting today with the acting president, Prof.Yemi Osinbanjo, after having met with Northeastern stakeholders on Sunday.
This marks the first time the UN Security Council is visiting Nigeria.
