World Famous Celebrities You Probably Didn't Know Were Nigerians

We see them on Hollywood hit movies and music videos and we probably want to be like them. Well even if i can't guarantee that you'll be like them, i can assure you that they have something in common with you. They are NIGERIANS!

Behold a list of 8 celebrities whom are of Nigerian descent, and yes, i am as surprised as you are, pleasantly so though.

1. Hope Wilson


Hope Olaide Wilson is an American actress born in the UK. She grew up in both Lagos Nigeria.Olaide speaks yoruba fluently and has starred in various Hollywood movies, including Tyler Perry's I can do bad all by myself alongside Taraji P Henson.

2. Ashley Madekwe



Best known for her role as Ashley in the ABC drama series Revenge, Ashley was born in 1983 to a Nigerian father and a Swedish mother.


3.Taio Cruz


Yes, you are not seeing things. Taio Cruz is our brother too! Born in London as Adetayo  Ayowale Onile-Ere, Taio Cruz is a renowned R&B and pop singer,songwriter, rapper and record producer. He has worked with notable artistes such as David Guetta , Jennifer Lopez and a host of others.


4. Nonso Anozie



Nonso Nwachukwu Anozie was born in London in 1979. He has starred in movies like Cinderella, Enders game and more, but is best known for his role as Xaro Xhoan Daxos on the HBO hit series Game Of Thrones. We've got a brother on the King's Landing guys!


5. Hakeem Kae-Kazeem



Hakeem was born in Lagos, Nigeria but his family relocated to London when he was still pretty young. Hakeem has starred in Hollywood bluckbusters such as X-men Origins: Wolverine, Pirates of the Carribean: At World's End and 24. He has also stared in Nigerian masterpieces such as Black November, Last flight to Abuja and lots more.

6. Donald Faison


If you're a sitcom lover, then you'd probably know him. Born Donald Adeosun Faison, Donald is best known for his role as Dr. Chris Turk on the ABC comedy drama Scrubs.

7. Olarotimi Akinosho


Rotimi was born in New Jersey, USA to a Yoruba dad and an Igbo mum. He got his first acting role on the movie  Boss as drug dealer, Darius Morrison. He is also part of the Starz' TVseries Power where he plays Dre, right hand man to Ghost, played by Omari Hardwick. . Besides acting, he is also a model and a musician.

8. Zain Asher



Born August 1983, Zain Ejiofor Asher is a Newscaster with the renowned Cable News Network CNN. She is the sister of Hollwood actor Chiwetel Ejoifor and is currently the anchor of CNN newsroom. She hails from Ezeagu LGA in Enugu state.
