Members of the House Of Repreesentatives have yesterday called for an extention of the deadline for UTME registration

Members of the House Of Repreesentatives have yesterday called for an extention of the deadline for registration of candidates for the upcoming Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME).

The lawmakers called on its Committee on Tertiary Education and Services to liaise with the Joint Matriculation and Admission Board (JAMB) in order to ensure that the extension request is honoured.

This call for extention stems from the motion raised by Rep. Damburam Nuhu and adopted by the house, calling for a one-month extension on the exercise, saying that it would create additional time for more prospective applicants to register for the examination.

The Committee is expected to carry out this task within one week.
