Inspiring stories of Nigerian Students
When Tobi Fatonade a.k.a Tobic Medic, a Nigerian Medical student
based in Ukraine, decided to pursue his dream, not many people gave him a
change. Tobi is a story of persistence and tenacity in pursuing one’s dream.

Tobi started playing drums from the tender age of 8 years at his
primary school marching band and local church back then in Lagos, Nigeria. Not
even studying Medicine was enough to stop him from his passion, he was able to
combine both together. His talent was soon to bring him to limelight in far
away Ukraine where he emerged as the gospel award winning drummer of the year
at an event organized by Elite Entertainment Group Ukraine in 2013. He has
played for popular Ukrainian gospel artist Vitaly
Yefremochkin and also pop artists Sunsay & Artem
Pivoravov.

Tobi decided to inspire other to
discover their God given talent. On the 3rd of July 2015, he started
a drum show, Drumquest, with the purpose of elevating,
mentoring and supporting drummers physically, mentally and spiritually too.

The Drumquest show would serve as a token and a springboard for
a professional career as a drummer. His vision is for the show to inspire
drummers to be the very best they can be, and not just good. The history making
event, DrumQuestUkraine, was held on the 5th and 12th of March, 2016 respectively.
There were a total of 12 contestants from different cities in Ukraine. It was
judged by a 3 man panel that comprised of ; Tobi Medic-Drums (the host),
popularly known Ukrainian drummers Alexander Lyulyakin and Paul
Kholodyansky.

At the end of the fiercely contested show, Oleg Noga, a drummer
from Poltava region emerged the winner.
